Fleet 79 Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Their Charter

On Sunday evening July 24, 2011, Day Sailer Fleet 79 had a celebration party at the Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, Massachusetts. In 1971 the Massapoag Yacht Club received their charter as a fleet with Bill Moore from Orleans Yacht Club sponsoring this new fleet. The fleet had 7 husband and wives charter members. In 2006 the Massapoag Yacht Club Fleet 79 hosted the NACR (North American Championship Regatta). At the Anniversary Party Fleet 79 welcomed our two new members to the fleet. We shared food, drinks, and many stories of past races and trips. The Day Sailer is for fun, and we certainly had fun.
