Congratulations to our own Kevin Buruchian who came in 15th at the Sunfish North American Championships held this weekend at the Barrington Yacht Club in Rhode Island.   Ninety seven competitors registered from all over North (and South) America.  The regatta was beset by thunderstorms, lack of wind and record heat, so only 6 of the planned 11 races were run.  

Bill Braginforte, who won the Annual Regatta in the Sunfish class at MYC last year, came in 3rd overall, and Eric Woodman came in 31st.  Not bad for our local Sunfishers!

Here are a couple of pictures of Kevin on the water.  The photos are fuzzy because the races were held fairly far offshore, and I was on land about 1/4 mile away from the action shooting with my longest telephoto then blowing up the pictures.  His sail number is 78275.  In the long distance shot he is in 4th place (4th from the right) just after the start of the first race yesterday.
