MYC held its 77th Annual Regatta with Small Boats on 9/4-9/6/2026. There were 18 Sunfish and 7 MC Scows participating. Friday was the welcome party with the Bravermans serving up grilled food and fixings for the rest of us. After Diane Kampf and crew served up breakfast on Saturday, Mother Nature brought us shifty winds around 15 MPH from the North/Northeast and places changed again and again after each of the 7 races. PRO Greg Kampf and crew did a great job responding to the wind shifts and getting races going quickly and keeping the fleets separated. Saturday night was our famous Lobster, Steak, Chicken and Pasta Primavera with salad and sides, and our ice cream sundae bar after dinner. Sunday brought a little lighter wind but 3 races were completed before the racers came in for lunch and awards. The Sunfish winner was Amanda Callahan and the MC Scow winner was John Eckart. Winners of today’s MYC Big Boat Single Handed Regatta (1) Mark Riefenhauser, (2) Roger Sharp, (3) Dave Rousseau. Thanks to Greg Kampf and crew on Race Committee and Owen Berkowitz for the refreshments. Some shifty crazy winds carried the racers through 3 races, with some shifts 90°! From the Committee boat, it looked like a blast.
