Flying Scot Fleet 76

Flying Scots on Lake Massapoag, pleasure sailing and racing.

Massapoag Yacht Club is the home of Flying Scot Fleet 76, New England’s largest Flying Scot Fleet .   Designed by the late Sandy Douglas the Flying Scot is a sturdy and versatile boat that provides comfort with a large cockpit as well as performance. MYC’s Flying Scot fleet members include family day sailors and enthusiatic racers. MYC’s facilities are well suited to its Flying Scots with ample mooring, dry sailing and dock space.

For racers Flying Scot Fleet 76 offers an active schedule from April to October. There are four Sunday race series - Spring, Summer 1, Summer 2, Fall - and a Wednesday evening series. Also, MYC’s annual regattas are always a popular event for fleet members and our out of town guests.

Flying Scot Fleet 76 typically is well represented at district and national events. It is also well represented in the national Flying Scot Sailing Association as it is the home fleet of FSSA Past President and Web Editor Diane Kampf and Chief Measurer Roger Sharp. In 2006, 2012, 2014 and again in 2018, Fleet 76 was awarded the prestigious Fleet of the Year Award by FSSA.  In 1996 and again in 2011, Fleet 76 was awarded the Fleet One Trophy for the best fleet in the North American Championships.

Whether you are interested in racing or taking the family out for a relaxing day sail, then Flying Scot Fleet 76 at Massapoag Yacht Club is for you. For more information or to arrange for a sail aboard a fleet boat contact fleet captain Greg Kampf.  The club also has a club Flying SCot available for use by members on a first come, first served basis.
