2024 DUBIOUS DISTINCTION AWARD

This award is given to the person deemed to have done the most to save the other members of the Club from having their own blunders recognized. This handsome piece of questionably useful furniture is given in grateful appreciation that the previous recipient won’t receive it two times in a row.  This award is given to the person deemed to have done the most to save the other members of the Club from having their own blunders recognized. The club owes its admiration to this year’s earners for their efforts at launching the Club Day Sailer early in the season. As the boat was being put into the water, a member noted that the centerboard was not down. The duo then proceeded to pull the boat out to the mooring with a club motorboat, which got caught on a mooring chain, causing all kinds of problems for them. Well, they finally got the boat out there and got back to the dock with the motorboat.

Did you notice we have not mentioned the centerboard being put in? That’s because it wasn’t, and the next day the boat was nearly swamped because water came into the boat through the opening where the centerboard was supposed to be. The boat had to be rescued so the centerboard could be put in properly and not be swamped again.

While defining the statement that no good deed goes unpunished we award the Hat Rack for 2024 to:

                Jeff Sprung & Michele Landry
