We held the 2026 MYC 77th Annual Regatta for big boats, including the New England Districts, Day Sailer Regatta and Clinigatta. Saturday was great wind and the weather held off for the racing. PRO Mark Stoughton and team did a great job of keeping us moving on the water and Flying Scots sailed 6 races and Day Sailers sailed 5 races. Our guest from Candlewood, Mark Riefenhauser, volunteered to help on the water when one of our crew was unable to participate due to injury, Scores were done by Annie Pennington before we even got off the water. In the end, Roger and Kate Sharp won the Flying Scot division and New England Districts, and Ansley and Sterling Worrell won the Day Sailer Division. Meanwhile, the onshore team made sure the food kept coming - breakfast and lunch with Mike Denecamp, cocktail party with Dave and Donna Rousseau and team, and dinner with Diane Kampf and team, including steak, chicken, lobster, pasta primavera prepared by Roche Brothers, followed by the make your own ice cream sundae bar.

Sunday's Clinigatta brought light air and it did start to rain before the sailers came in, but that didn't stop these hearty folks. Roger and Kate Sharp demonstrated the art of raising, jibing and dousing a spinnaker for the racers before they went out to race. PRO Dave Rousseau, with his team of experienced racers coaching on the water, managed 2 races before the downpour and the sailers came back in. The Clinigatta winner was Mark Stoughton, with Anastasia Aranovich and crew in second and Lori Watson and crew in third. Back on shore, breakfast was served by Karen Elsner and lunch by Diane Kampf and crew. Everyone there helped clean up and made it easy work for the regatta team.
All in all, 2 good days of racing, learning and fun - we hope you all come again next year. Full results are here and photos are coming soon.
